Distractions
Hello!
It’s been a long, long time, I know...
Turns out I have to dedicate myself much more to things I aspire being. I have big ambitions and I’m not modest enough to deny that I know I have what it takes to get there.
The problem is I lack discipline and dedication. I get bored easily. So I choose to distract away from the books. I procrastinate and when I finally get a grip it may be too late.
I have to learn how to focus, establish goals and work hard to get there. The career I picked asks for lots and lots of dedication, concentration and perseverance.
It’s a long term commitment and you have to give yourself a lot before getting anything back.
That scares the hell out of the frivolous side of me.
But when you donate yourself to a marriage as demanding as that, do you still have room to other kinds of marriage? Is it really your job and nothing else? Is it an exclusive kind of deal?
Where is Carrie Bradshaw when you need her?
But of course 5 minutes here wouldn't hurt, would it? I'm just being dramatic. It's my favorite sport, you know. ;-)
Meanwhile...
- Lisa really is the perfect combination of genetics and hard work, isn't she? Bravo to her, yoga and her parents. I would also say bravo to God but I don't know how comfortable He would feel about getting credit for a hot body. So instead I'll "bravo" God for her personality, kay?
- I couldn't be more excited for Huddy. Well, actually I could but *insert first part of this post here*. But I'm pretty, pretty, pretty excited!!!
- Tori Amos' new album is about to be released. Listening to a record of hers for the very first time is almost like an out of body experience for me. I can't wait to feel that again.
- 30 Rock is the best TV show out there nowadays. Probably one of the best ever. (Note that is not an opinion, It IS the absolute truth!) I will never, ever, stay 3 weeks without watching it again. No matter what.
- My next entry will be about Kara Dioguardi. Pro Kara Dioguardi. You've been warned.
