The Forever Fight
The pillow's soaked from blood and tears
He's dressing with no doubts or fears
She's curled to the side still sobbing
Standing up, his knuckles are throbbing
Walking to the door he takes a final glance
He's smiling knowing she had no chance
She's sitting up knowing she can't ever tell
She thinks its her fault, that she's going to hell
She's wiping her face, touching her eyes
Her body feels weak, she's wanting to die
She's trying to stand, she's wincing in pain
She's no longer there, she's no longer sane
She's not a little girl, she's become hollow
This act was too much for her to swallow
She can no longer see her life or dreams
She can only remember his face and her screams
Why was no one there when help was needed?
Why didn't he stop when she desprately pleaded?
He's stolen her innocence, he's lessened her worth
He's turned her world into a hell on earth
Years from now she'll still remember
Smothering her mind like a burning ember
She'll see his face when she closes her eyes
Everynight she'll relive it all and cry
The thoughts of this night will never deminish
The battle never won, the fight never finished
