I spent the week as a dragon.

Specifically, I took the form of another dragon that's here in the village. A friend of his was able to help me adjust.

A... dragon? Forgive me, I'm not familiar with the people.

Are you familiar with lizards, at least?

Ah, yes. [Though, the lizards sie's picturing are really more akin to a cross between a snake and and bird; winged serpents.]

Picture a lizard, increase the scale by one hundred. Give it wings, the ability to breath fire, and a penchant for raw fish.

Here, I can draw it for you.

[A sketch appears in the journal's feed. Cameron can decide for hirself what it actually depicts, but it bears no resemblence to Toothless whatsoever.]

[That resembles.... a seal with wings? Sie considers this a moment and then pictures - okay, the fire breath is odd and the fish makes sense but there's one flaw-]

But... lizards usually have wings, don't they? Do you mean ones large enough to fly with?

[That was an unexpected response.]

Not in my world, they don't.

Oh, that's strange. Not at all?

Not at all.

If the lizards had wings, wouldn't they technically be birds?

Of course not - they have scales and lack beaks and most cannot fly.

Re: [Voice] consultmybooks April 10 2011, 22:39:08 UTC
Then why on Earth do they have wings?

[Voice] kissdiet April 11 2011, 03:41:13 UTC
They glide with them, of course. They cannot manage true flight, that's all.

...that actually makes sense.

Which is probably a distressing sign of how well adjusted I've become to this place.

Gliding lizards are the norm in your world?

Yes? I can only assume they are different in your own.

Yes. The only lizards with wings in my world are decidedly mythological.

[...which isn't to say they aren't real, but his point still stands.]

Oh - your confusion is understandable in that case.

...But I believe I have a picture of a dragon now? Roughly.
