Victor Borkowski better known as Anole sat in the living room at Xavier Institute. He was watching the news again. He had watched this morning, but unfortunately had to miss the afternoon broadcast because he had classes. That was ok because he got to see Mr. Beaubier his favorite teacher. It was not the evening broadcast and the first story was exactly what Anole was waiting for. The group known as the Young Avengers had foiled a bank robbery. He was intently listening to the story when they cut to a live interview. There he was, Wiccan. Anole let out a sigh as he listened to him talk. He wondered why he was the only one talking then soon realized that he wasn’t. They all were there, but he only saw him.

He read an article about them in the Daily Bugle. He found out that Wiccan was openly gay and he got picked on in school for it. Victor could relate to that, but he didn’t get picked on for it. He also knew that Wiccan’s name used to be Asguardian. Anole couldn’t help but chuckle at that. He wondered who his boyfriend was though. He also wondered what he looked like without his winged headgear and well he didn’t quite know how to describe his costume. It was cool, but he wanted to know the real Wiccan. Victor had been so caught up in the newscast that he didn’t realize someone else had entered the room. It was none other than Bobby Drake better known as Iceman.

“Hey, what’s on TV?” Bobby asked with a smirk on his face. “Oh, let me guess the news again?” he said as he walked over and sat down in a chair by the window.

“Yeah, the Young Avengers were on there again,” Anole said smiling and trying to be nice to Bobby. He found out that his favorite teacher had a bit of a crush on Bobby. It wasn’t like Bobby knew or anything, but it still made Anole jealous. “They foiled a bank robbery,” he said smiling.

Bobby looked at Anole and sort of rolled his eyes. “The X-Men do a lot more than that you know,” he said. He was also a bit intrigued by the Young Avengers but mainly because they had come from seemingly nowhere. If they were mutants why didn’t they just come to the school and be X-Men? “So, your boyfriend Wiccan talked huh?” Bobby said teasing Anole. He knew he had a crush on him.

“Shut up, he’s not my boyfriend Bobby. You know that’s really mean to suggest,” he said pouting. “We have a lot in common that’s all. I would like to meet him is all,” he said, as he stood up tired of trying to be nice to Iceman. It was growing increasingly harder considering the last comment he just made. “I have to get to play practice,” he announced as he left the room.

Jean-Paul Beaubier better known as Northstar had been assigned the task of organizing a school play. He asked Victor to have the lead role because he knew from their conversations that he was a bit of an actor and that he was good at it. Victor couldn’t wait to see Jean-Paul again. He had helped him so much and now he was giving him the opportunity to do something else he loved. He made his way down the hall to an empty classroom Jean-Paul had assigned as the practice room.

As Victor hurried out Bobby realized he never got the chance to let him know that he might just be getting his wish of meeting Wiccan. The Professor had let him in on a little secret. Wiccan was on his way to the school as they spoke. He needed help. He figured that Victor was too caught up in seeing the Young Avengers on TV again to realize one was missing. Bobby had been watching the same broadcast from the television in his dorm room and he sure noticed that Hulkling was missing. He wasn’t exactly hard to miss. Bobby knew that he was a shape shifter, but whenever the Young Avengers were around Hulkling always took the shape of a younger version of the Incredible Hulk. That wasn’t too easy to miss.
