what kind of day has it been

Let's talk tv!
(Since I haven't in AGES)
((Please beware that most of the shows are all reruns and/or USA shows. Go figure. ;))

I deleted Common Law from the tivo lineup. I liked it, but... And it's the but that led to me deleting it. There's something missing in it and that something which I can't name is enough to make it not enough to stay in the line up. (Unless Desmond shows up to be with Penny.) ((And of course, the last episode I recorded was a better one, so OF COURSE that threw me off a bit but I ignored the voice in my head and ruthlessly hit delete.))

I have kept Necessary Roughness because I love the mental insanity of Marshall Pittman. And Nico. And TK. I'm just gonna keep ignoring the fact that Mark Blucas exists. (Yawn......)

And hey, Tivo keeps picking up Buffy reruns lately. Sometimes I forget how magical it can be to watch a Joss Whedon show. I know all the bits by heart. Some I hate, but some I love and it's the love part that will make me watch again and again. (It's the final season reruns popping up and all the potentials are camped out at Casa Buffy. Yummy Principal Wood. But Faith hasn't turned up yet, alas. Soon, I hope! :))

Which leads the The Newsroom, which I will not be watching because I don't have HBO and damned if I will pay that much extra a month, even for a Sorkin show. I'm not... heartbroken?... but I am disappointed. Hopefully some of you will keep me and the DVDs company once it comes out on sale. Meanwhile, a comment from Dia about Sam Waterston and Isaac Jaffe has me thinking I should watch one Sports Night ep each time The Newsroom airs. Doesn't that seem fair? Who is with me? ;)

There's been some snarky, mean comments on twitter about Suits lately and... I don't know. I'm not seeing what they are. Or vice versa. I love it. I love the tension, the way everyone interacts, the dealings, the Donna snark and concern. (Yes, I don't care. I am obsessed with Donnas. Mainly because writers keep writing these amazing, supporting women I love and then naming then Donna instead of pretty much any other name they could choose.)

B and I are enjoying Dallas. Especially the opening credits, and omg, we are so children of the 80's that its not even funny. Enough said.

I was on the fence about Bunheads when I first read the synopsis. And then I watched. And I *know* that B is 100% correct when he says Michelle is just Lorelai. I know its a retread and that ASP is reaching Sorkinese levels with the recycling and yet... I love this show too. I want to know more. I care about Michelle and Emilyher MiL a lot. I care about what happens. I really just want to watch it as good comfort food tv. It doesn't have to be deep or meaningful. It just has to *be*.

I don't watch the Doctors in the Hamptons show regulary (I'm even blanking on the name right now!) but I like it, so when it's on and when it pops up thanks to tivo suggestions, I watch it because its kind of fun. But you know what's frustrating? Getting lost at all the comings/goings/notHankMed/isHankMed/change of employment shenanigans. Can't they all just be one company/family TOGETHER? Sheesh!

PS: USA, you really need to work on your openings. Only Psych has one that excels. The others all look like HS projects. WORK HARDER. (the shows are good, though, so keep up the good work on them! :))
