I'm a filthy troll

That's the only explanation I have for why I'm eating up the shipwar drama on deviantART like it's candy. I never comment or provoke anyone, but there's something so deliciously perverse in seeing all the rabid lengths people will go to to prove the existence of something that was never there in the first place.

Since slashers like me rarely have an ( Read more... )

I rather like both pairings but unlike the people in your rant, it appears, I don't expect any of it to really be cannon. Kishi said that there would be romance in the story, but he never guaranteed that it would be a happy romance or that it would be a major part of the plot. He just said it'd be there. And boy do we have it in all forms, though mostly non-reciprocated.

I applaud your essay. I also love you for the fact that you're going to work on an essay about the use of war imagery in Greek erotic poetry. Seriously, Greek erotic poetry. ♥

Yeah, totally. Until part two it could've gone either way, and while I still think NaruSaku has more of a shot (unless Kishimoto succeeds in dragging Sakura's character back to part one), it's clear at this point that Naruto/Sasuke is the only relationship with any true plot significance. I mostly like NaruSaku because it interferes the least with the present canon dynamics. She's more meaningful to him as a teammate and friend than as a lover, which is a much better basis for romance than "I barely know you, but you said you loved me! It must be fate!"

Thank you, bb. <3 Really, I ship almost all incarnations of Team 7 because they're too crazy to work with anyone else. There's more aggression between the three of them than in all of Akatsuki combined, and I'd hate to think of Hinata becoming a casualty of Naruto's rougher tendencies.

Wow. That was quite an essay/rant! TBH I really don't think that Naru-chan would get with either of them. Apart from in the first few parts (of the anime) Naruto doesn't really show that much interest in either of them. (That's my opinion anyways) I do agree with you on how Hinata gets stronger because Naruto just exists though. I know that Shippers like the whole NaruHina and NaruSaku but personally? The romance for me is NaruSASU! just thought I'd tell you my opinion =^^= Great essay! x

Wow, kudos for slogging through that whole thing for a pairing debate you're not even part of. :P I'm actually about split between NaruSasu and NaruSaku, as far as preferences go. But I was pulling for NaruSaku in canon, and have not taken recent manga developments in that area very well. As far as Hinata goes...now that she's confessed, I feel like her role as "the chick who loves Naruto" has found closure. I'd really like to see her move on and be strong in her own right, so I'm pulling for some good fight scenes in the war.

Thanks again for reading! Glad you enjoyed my rambling.
