Dreams in stereo
So I went to bed really early last night (at 1 in the morning as opposed to 6) and crashed hard. I knocked right out. And when I dreamed, it was like I was dreaming in stereo. The colors were nicely vivid. It rained and I could feel the cold drops splashing on me. And then this song came on while I was talking to my mom, and I was telling her about it. I've always liked the song when it's come on the radio but I've kept forgetting to get it for my own home use. I will sit in a car those few extra minutes to listen to it and let it finish. It brings out the romantic in me (which I suppose isn't so difficult) and just transports me. So I'm listening to this song in my dream and it is in stereo, beautiful and loud, and I'm hearing all of the words. Now, maybe someone outside was playing it and I heard it, but we don't usually have folks outside playing radios in my neighborhood. It was perfectly quiet when I woke up. I can still hear it in my head.
The dream didn't make any real sense; it was a meshing of different images from my old neighborhood, from school - but the experience was cool. There was a time when I used to have such vivid dreams which made sense and even had plots. I used to be excited to go to sleep. I had a little taste of that today. It was a nice way to wake up.
Always makes me wonder, though: where do we go when we dream?
