speaking of bread, our dinner last night:
baked cheese with wine on toast
(adapted from veg cooking for everyone, deborah madison)
preheat oven to 400
mix 2 eggs, 2 c cheese [we used cheddar, parm and comte], 1/4 c white wine.
spread mixture on four slices of italian or other bread
melt 2 tbsp butter in a skillet, add 1/4 c white wine, nestle bread into skillet
bake 15 minutes, then broil for a minute to brown the cheese
