pretty (and linky)

I know that I already have two functional Scrabble boards, but the hoarding hobbyist in me really wants this pretty black one.

The sounds of the rain woke me up this morning. I answered student emails at 6:45. They often write me in the single digit AM numbers, so I don't feel so bad.

There's half a swimsuit sitting on my desk that I still haven't managed to return. Got it a month ago. Will take it downstairs today, which is one step closer to actually putting it in the mail.

I'm 2/3 done with a prayer shawl for my grandma for xmas. I'm enjoying the rhythm of knit 3, purl 3. Next, I'm going to start a variation of the prayer shawl in scarf form, for the Red Scarf Project. As written on their website, "The Red Scarf Project, a project of the Orphan Foundation of America, or Orphan.org, collects red (and other unisex-colored) scarves to send in Valentine's Day care packages to college students who have aged out of foster care. These brave young people are going it on their own and trying to improve their lives and the community by attending college." This charity project is near and dear to my heart, with all the work I do with college students.

Also: the cat has learned to use the dog door. I have a very wet... cat.

So, I'm awake. Maybe I'll make a real breakfast.
