While I'm sitting here, I should post this:

www.lala.com is a nifty web service.

You make a list of CDs you have to trade, and CDs you want. The service then matches you to people who want what you have, and people who have what you want. They don't have to be one to one trades - it just tracks how many you've sent and received, and tries to keep the karma in balance. You can trade with or without cover art, and it costs $1.75 per disc, which includes postage, envelopes, and plastic CD holders to keep discs from being damaged.

I've so far sent out some U2 CDs, Van Morrison, and other stuff I haven't listened to for years. I've received Diana Krall, Eddie from Ohio, Cheryl Wheeler, and a couple others are on the way. Highly recommended.

Also in the past few days (it has been the month for music apparently), I've purchased albums by Antje Duvekot (mmmm), Ginn Sisters (heard on NPR, not loving CD, will try to send out via lala.com), and Whiskeytown (my yourmusic.com CD of the month - haven't listened to it yet), and received as gifts Salamander Crossing; Wayfaring Stangers; Erin McKeown; Essex Green (so fun!) and the new Hem, Funnelcloud (way better than eveningland).

Yay music! A new mix CD is slowly taking form.
