A general fiber update

I've been trying to be good about updating my knitjournal, but I'm pretty attached to livejournal as my main means of communication. I'm also addicted to the song Not Pretty Enough by Kasey Chambers, and it's playing right at this minute, and that pleases me. As does the weather. I am on a tangent. I must come back.

So, first, I just discovered the Yarn of the Month Club. I love of-the-month-clubs. I'm already a yourmusic.com subscriber. I covet a membership to the Bacon of the Month Club. So, I just had to sign up for a yarn of the month, 'cause it's much cheaper than (also softer than, but not as tasty as) bacon (plus I gave up buying things online for Lent, but not subscribing to things, so I took advantage of this loophole).

I have also been spinning like a crazy person. I've been working through my corriedale/rambo from this person on eBay. The first batch was easier to spin, I think based on my dye method (steaming) versus the more recent batch dye method (immersion dyeing), as I may have felted the latter a little. I've spun about 600 yards (times two, if you count the singles separately) in the past week and a half.

I still have to add the buttons to my cardigan that's almost finished. First, I have to get some buttons. I hope to work on that this weekend. I'm 1.5 feet into a farrow rib (use a multiple of four; knit 3 purl 1 every row) cormo scarf (handspun, handdyed, but I think I'll re-dye it a darker color once it's done). I love having access to dye. My options are so much wider.

I'm planning to apply for an upcoming craft fair in Waltham, but I'm lazy and haven't done so yet.
