(no subject)
Arg. I just tried to get my yukata on the right way. I figured out why the thing was so long, finally. I got the fabric folded over, tied (only after a few curses towards it), then moved on to the obi.
Oh god. Directions in only Japanese are bad. I tried to look at the pictures of the directions... but that was of no help whatsoever. I figured out that you had fold it in half, throw one end over the right shoulder, but then everything else made no sense. I ended up just tying it into a bow (haha, genius!) and having the rest fall to the floor.
That's when everything came flooding out of all the ties and such. And I just gave up. I had to fold it, which I couldn't figure out a way how to... so I more or less just rolled it up and put everything back in my drawer.
Plus I thought that maybe having an actual silk one would help a little. Thicker. But Nick had to be semi-cheap and get cotton. Whatever.
I like my obi design better the the yukata design. Huh.
Well, maybe Akiko can show me next time she visits.
