The thing about having a girlfriend with a vampire for a girlfriend, Ginny has learned, is that you slowly but surely develop the world's most fucked-up sleeping cycle. Like, at first Ginny had thought Sara was just an insomniac and she couldn't get to sleep at night but no. No, it was just that her girlfriend was a vampire so Sara tended to stay awake at night because that was when her girlfriend was awake and apparently she hadn't been a vampire when Sara met her but that didn't mean her sleeping habits had actually changed any when she turned into a vampire.

Anyway, for being a vampire, Reili is rather nonthreatening. She eats regular food, she has regular-looking teeth, her eyes stay the same color, there is no sign that she has super-strength or anything, and the only indication that there's anything fundamentally different about her is really that she drinks literal Bloody Marys. Ginny had asked, once, and Reili had laughed.

"It's a Bloody Mary. That way Sara can have people over and I can pass as a regular person without passing out. Not that we have too many people over that don't already know about me."

As Ginny hangs around Sara and Reili more, she learns that Reili's only been a vampire for about three years and she's a well-respected author of vampire erotica. Sara poses for all of her photos and does all of her appearances, and they sometimes co-write the books that Sara sells. She also finds out that becoming a vampire doesn't seem to fundamentally change your sex drive. Reili is pretty much an asexual, although she talks about sex all the time, and according to Sara she had been one before the change too. So yeah. Ginny's not really expecting the day when Reili climbs into her lap and presses their lips together.

The first thing Ginny says when they break apart is: "What was that?"
Reili laughs, "A kiss, Virginia Marie."
The second thing she says is: "That's not what I meant. I thought. Aren't you? What."
"You're silly," Reili grins, "and yes, but you know. It doesn't mean that I don't like kissing. You should stay the day, I'll make you waffles in the evening."
