GE's planning to sell off their appliance division... and since my dad doesn't have a college degree, if he's lost in that corporate shuffle like my mom was when Betz was taken over, it's unlikely that he'll have a chance to recover. It's because he's been working there for 32 years that he has the salary and the benefits he does... and he works 3-4 hours of overtime every day and Saturdays just to make ends meet. We're already strapped for cash as it is...
I'd be the only one with any kind of income. No medical coverage, no life insurance, nothing but a severance package that will run out within six months. We'd still have to pay $800 a month for Matt, college fees, bills and taxes...
