This [my situation with PayPal], by the way, is a perfect illustration of why we are NOT truly free if corporations have too much power. If governments allow the market to be dominated by corporations that behave unethically, people have no choice but to patronize unethical businesses that screw them over unless they want to go without important services. Stricter government regulations for corporate behaviour and much stronger anti-trust laws would be extremely helpful in allowing people to actually make free choices about what companies get their money.
