Atheism

The other thing that freaks religious people out about those who do not believe in god? "We" cannot understand you at all. Take Scott Adams, for example.

I loved this blog entry of his. Just really makes sense to me. And I'm not talking about the hypnotism, either, but the real point of the post which the hypnotism is wrapped around.

Scott's philosophy of life, if I may so characterize it, seems to contain all of the things that make me jaded and easily frustrated.

And yet, he accepts all of what people are and doesn't appear to hate them or anything! How does he do it? THAT part I do not understand.

There seems to be a lot to Adams. He is not a simple man. This is the thing that religious people don't like about him, Chuck, etc etc. Atheists are capable of mixing the things that we consider sin with the things that we consider virtue, and possibly coming out ahead of the game. This is disturbing and confusing for people who've been raised a certain way.

For myself, I recognize that things are not so simple as many people would like them to be, and I try to have an open mind about stuff. I won't suggest that I am successful to any specific degree, but I'm hoping that even the attempt puts me ahead of a certain portion of the pack.

I'm uncertain whether this entry will make any sense to anyone but myself. Too much vagary and allusion, but I do not know how to change it to specifics, so you're stuck with what is here.

my life, faith, rage, introspection, fear, science, religion, the dilbert principle
