Last Friday Kipling came bolting home a little earlier than usual. We later discovered that he had been chased by some dogs in the park and just managed to squeek through the fence and make it home. As a result he's managed to tear all his claws down to the nailbed and tear the thumb pads on his front paws.
So we haven't let him out all week, and he's climbing the walls (as well as mewing pathetically at the cat flap).
Then tonight, I found a blood trail in the dining room and snaffled the cat to try to save the carpet. So I sent A to find some gauze, which was relatively unsuccessful, and ended with my cutting up an old gauze bandage and tying it onto the cat's paw.... which he promptly shook off.
So we tried again with tape... which lasted until the top of the stairs, at which point we gave up.
So an advance warning to our lovely landlady... there may be cat blood on the carpet when we move out (altho I suspect that you have chosen your carpet to hide these things).
