I have recently acquired (before the wreck, mind) the BBC renditions of the Chronicles of Narnia on DVD...which rules.

That is all.

dvds, narnia, bbc

Those are our favorites! I only wish they'd continued with the other three books.

Love the icon!

Those were awful. They left out some very important bits (the illustration of baptism when Aslan turns Eustace back into a human, for example. The special effects cannot even be called "special" or "effects." The actors were not good. Lucy was not cute . . .

Puddleglum was good, however, and they were worth enduring for that performance alone.

Oh, I know. I winced more than once. But I get a high off taking' a bad movie beating. But I wouldn't call them "bad", really. They did have their high points in that, for their time, they were...cute. Of course, I like the modern movie even better, and the books the best (always), but it's nice to see different interpretations...even if it happens to be more New Age than we would like them to be.

They're not perfect, but I watched them very often when I was little. I found them in DVD format about three months ago and got them myself. It's like walking through my old neighborhood again. :D
