facebook has stolen my soul. I still love you lj.
Our honeymoon was awesome. I kept a journal as I tend to do when we take big trips. Just to help remember all the silly times.
The weather was super nice to us. It rained our first full day in Victoria, a little one night in Vancouver, and again one night in Seattle. Really nothing when you're in the North West in Jan. It was even sunny sometimes.
Victoria was a nice little town. very pretty. Canadians really are insanely friendly. We'd buy something in a store and end up having a 10 minute conversation about where we're from and the weather.
Knitting seems popular there as well so I ended up with a bunch of really nice yarn. We had a really nice relaxing few days just walking around and eating really good food. And drinking way too much tea. I miss all the tea..
My least favorite part was the ferry rides. Even with the giant boats I still felt sick the whole time. We joked about moving to Vancouver Island but I don't know how well I'd really do with always having to get on a boat to leave.
Vancouver was a city I didn't really have time to research much so we just wandered a lot. We planned to visit the suspension bridge, gastown, and the giant mall. The bridge was... an adventure. I knew it was going to freak me out - which it did - but I wasn't expecting to be landsick for hours afterward. I felt like I was going to pass out a few times. I enjoyed the tree top adventure part more as long as people weren't coming up behind me making the bridges bounce >_<
gastown is cute, with its steam powered clock but it's mostly a shopping district now. we ate at a super tasty pub the first night though.
And the giant mall was indeed giant. I got some cute undies ^_^
Before leaving for Seattle we went to Chinatown for some good dim sum steamed buns. We got to seattle early so we spent some time in Ballard shopping. I got a cute pirate ship necklace.
Pikes Place was insanely busy so we just went strait to our hotel. It was the only place we got an upgrade. I didn't want to leave. such a comfy bed for a hotel. We got dinner at the attached restaurant and it was pretty good. Fancier then our usual fair.
We walked to the space needle after dinner. It started to rain and was super windy while we were up there but it was a nice night view. Took lots of pictures.
The next day we wondered around Pikes Place, went to the Aquarium and squeed over cute otters.
Later we went to Laughing Buddha and bought plugs.
Our last night we went to Lunchbox Laboratory. omfg best burgers ever. and more tasty yam fries. and a good shake. I must have had a pound of bacon on my 'fantancy' burger with chedder and havardi. Richard got a lamb burger that he equally enjoyed.
In the morning we went to Lola's for breakfast which included freshly made donuts.
We rushed to SEA-TAC to catch our flight, but it was delayed. and delayed. and delayed some more. In the end we spent 2 hours in the terminal and an hour on the plane before we got to take off. they also slowed the plane down so it took an extra 30 mins to get to SFO.
We decided it was our payment for the good weather :P
All and all it was a very enjoyable honeymoon. We relaxed and ate so much good food.
Things have been more hectic since we got back. trying to catch up with school, getting stupid sick, trying to hang out with friends, my internship (which I'm having so much fun at!).
