Last Weekend
Since the car drama is all over I meant to update on last weekends trip.
Last Sunday Richard and I got up early, packed up snacks and the rice krispy treats we made, and headed into the city to pick up friends for a trip to Monterey.
We wanted to see the new set up with Sea Horses and we missed our yearly trip the week before.
A pit stop at the Thistle Hut yielded some of the tastiest artichokes we've ever had.
We went with Jof, Josh, and his girlfriend Jessica (both the guys are friends from Richards work.) Full car. btw rice krispy treats with bacon in the middle are surprisingly good. We made them as a joke for Jof but everyone ate them.
The aquarium was mostly the same, but the sea dragons were awesome, and the otters were in a food coma so they were actually holding still long enough to get a picture.
Richard, Jessica, and I were most excited becuase they had cuttle fish! 27 of them!!1 This was the first time in four trips we've seen them. I learned later it's because they don't live very long and these ones were pretty young.
We had a big dinner at Bubba Gumps, and drove to Carmel for some ice cream and coffee.
It was a long day, about 11pm by time we got home, but it was a fun trip. Richard and I started to get sick again since we were so worn out but managed to beat it. (Josh was not so lucky and spent the whole week out with the flu.)
I tried to donate blood the next day but my iron was too low again. Probably because of the sick.
This weekend has been spent catching up with shopping but tomorrow we're going to MOMA to see a couple photographers they have shows for. And hopefully some home work will happen in there too..
