I'm an extremely happy nerd, geek, whatever: I decided I was sick of reality and wanted to play some video games, but none of that fancy pants crap - oh no, I wanted something.. RETRO!
So began a few hours spent hunting down emulators that actually worked and a number of roms for NES, Atari, Gameboy, ect., that I used to play as lil monster back in the day. Most gleeful of all was Pitfall 2: The Lost Caverns, which I had once tried to get working but gave up with failure. Once I actually got it going, it was bliss. I've since then been enjoying a number of random titles from the past. The music, sound effects, the general feel of it all is fantastic. If this kind of thing doesn't make a grown up gamer feel young again, I really dunno what would.
