So I have been back at uni 'proper' for just over a week now and I have just been absolutely slammed! This week I have had to read four 10-20 page articles on Imperial Impacts, two late C19th articles on the British Empire, 80 pages on Edwardian and Victorian Britain, I've to skim read through one of G.B. Shaw's works, and Baden-Powells original Scout manual, write a summery on both sources and a short biog of Shaw and Baden-Powell, read three introductory chapters on Scottish nationality and identity, decide what I want to write my essays for both Empire and Identity on AND come up with a dissertation question and find my supervisior. This is just one week (seven whole days) worth of work.

Maybe it's just cos I've been out the loop for the past year (ish), but I don't remember there being THIS much in the first few weeks of uni last year, or any other year.

Know what the best part is? I'm on top of it. I just have to read the Identity chapters (easy, 60 pages max), work out what essays to do (again - fairly easy) and read and write about Shaw and the Scouts, which I'll do on my day off tomorrow. This is as heavy as my work load is going to get - when I have essays due they lessen up on the reading which is cool, and when I'm doing my dissertation I only have one class a week. I'm just hoping I manage to keep on top of it all!
