Gayke Mark II was a success. I used a better recipe, used the right flour and a little less food colouring, cos food colouring tastes like crap.
It's a bit lighter and marbled than the first one but it tastes really really good! I just used a basic sponge recipe and added some lemon zest, some orange flavouring and the juice of half a lemon. The icing is buttercream, but the lemon/orange juice mix watered it down so much it turned into more of a glaze. It turned out pretty well though!

I went out last night for my friends birthday - which is what the cake was for. We went into town, so I called my friend Nick to see if he was out and to get him to come meet us. As I was walking I misjudged the depth of a puddle that was outside the club we went to and thinking it was only an inch at most deep, I walked through it. Turns out the road curved towards the kerb, my heel of my shoe got stuck between the cobbles and i fell over into the puddle. I've cut up my right knee pretty badly - there was blood all down my shin and having cleaned it up properly now I can see there are 5 or 6 deep (ish) cuts as well as loads of little scrapes and grazes. I cleaned it up a little last night before I went to bed and ended up having to put 7 plasters of various sizes on to stop getting blood and grossness on my nice clean white sheets! The best part - all I have is kids plasters. My legs were covered in fishies and balloons! Anyway, I had a bath to wash it all out properly (boy did that sting!) and I'm now chilling out in my PJs, my shin and knee slathered in antiseptic cream.
To be honest, I'm shocked they let me into the club. I totally and utterly embarrased my self right infront of the door, had blood all down my leg, was soaking wet with muddy puddle water, my shoes were hurting cos they were so damp - and the worst part I wasn't even drunk! I spent the entire night feeling absolutely mortified!
