I'm filing a harassment complaint against an adams county sheriff. D. Simonsen. I pulled into a public area with luke. Got out of the car to take some pictures. They flew in 6 mins later and blocked us in. 2 get out of the car and ask us what we're doing there because we "are not supposed to be there" I say taking pics because Luke was posing for one when they tore in the drive... they ask to see our id's, run them, look in our car through the windows. I ask the officer standing by us what we did wrong and he basically say we did nothing. That we were allowed to be there but we couldnt' drive our car in their. Note there are not posted signs of any sort saying we couldn't be or drive there. I'm fine but luke has a suspended license. Keep in mind we were not pulled over. they pulled into a parking lot after we'd been there for mins. They asked who drove and I said I did. Luke kept quiet. They said "it looked like he was driving when we passed you." I said I drove to Hancock and couldn't quite recall but admitted he might have driven. He goes to his car and comes back with a citation to Luke for driving while on a suspended license and slaps the near maximum of 186 dollars on it. We were never pulled over. It was 820pm and headlights needed to be used and we passed them on the way going 55 mph. We were both wearing black on top. They literally have no proof that he was driving.. except for speculation and hoping he was. No signs, so suspicious behavior, no trespassing, no need to check our ID's. No need to stop us or run our licenses. ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO EVEN STOP THERE! AS they left I asked if I needed to move my car and they said I'd be fine there. So... their premise to pull us over was that we weren't supposed to be there.. then it was okay we just couldn't drive there.. then we could leave the car there and look around. Tell me, exactly, why he was ticketed? Why they even talked to us? what we did wrong or suspicious?
