Aww....
I have two boys of my own (though not seven years apart) and the little one just adores his big brother. So I can see this happening with these two.
( and my older once said he was going to marry the younger one once too...)

Oh this is fantastic! This is by far the best explanation for Mycroft's ring. I love how you talked about Sherlock's admiration for the intelligence of his older brother, as well. Mycroft is supposed to be quite intelligent in his own right, and it's nice when fans remember that.

Thank you very much! Mycroft is absolutely my favorite character and as much as Sherlock gets on his case, there's no way he can deny the cleverness of his big brother. :)
