OH MY GOD

This is gorgeous. And I totally, totally buy that Eames would be the secretly sentimental one and Mal would be the one who just wanted to run around doing stuff.

“I don’t want to be anyone’s wife,” Mal told him. “Yours least of all.”
Fucking ouch.

Thank you so much! It's probably influence from hesselives, but I just can't see Mal being the type to be really vocal about how she feels. Before Cobb, anyway, if we have to bring canon into this.

She means it well, though, honestly. It's kind of her way of saying, "I love you too much to marry you," which she would never say in so many words.

BUT DOES EAMES KNOW THAT? I HAVE MY DOUBTS. SO 'OUCH' IS V.V. APPROPRIATE.

If feel like "if we have to bring canon into this" should be my fandom motto or something.

af;sdf; SO YEAH, I LOVE YOUR MAL KIND OF A LOT. I am so easy for characters who can't say what they mean.

Wow. I absolutely loved the haunting nature of this, how - despite the fact it's so short - it still managed to say so much. Thank-you. ♥

As much as I love Dom and Mal together, some of his behavior is so obsessive and his distortions of reality so persistent that I have a hard time believing it really happened the way he remembers it. We never hear from Mal---only people who claimed to know her. TL;DR: THIS IS WHY I LIKE TO PLAY AROUND WITH HER AND EAMES.

You can certainly interpret it that way, yes. Stars are an interesting point, since they look relatively fixed to us---so, in some ways, it was a reflection on fate as well. /pretentious lit-nerd mode

I'm so happy you enjoyed it. Thanks very much. :)

I likeee the mal though. she's so flighty. OR AM I READING THIS ALL WRONG?? it's late so... /blames that.

GOOD. IT WILL NEVER STOP. Okay, actually, I have no more Eames/Mal fic to throw at you. For now. ;)

Eames is kind of a sap, too, I think. Here, at least. Canon!Eames is certainly not a sap, but I like to imagine that some of that is due to a lot of disappointment in his younger days that led to him being much more guarded. *shrug*

You are totally reading it right. Don't even worry. I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
