We're going to a local lecture. It's a point-by-point discussion of the Nicene Creed. Would it be disrespectful to take my knitting? Wooden needles, very little click & clack. See I have this baby sweater that isn't progressing as fast as the baby is.

i don't think knitting during public functions is disrespectful at all. maybe at a funeral or something. the year i was an exchange student all the girls knitted during class (this was high school) and i thought it was a very good use of time. none of the teachers minded. it's not hard at all to knit and pay attention to a speaker at the same time.

I think that's really cool. All my high school (college, probably, too) teachers would have had a conniption if someone were knitting in class.
