Frivolous Questions

Mar 08, 2011 21:51

As I was unpacking in my now deliciously warmed house (sequels forthcoming), some friends got to see stuff of mine they had managed to not see before. This led to the comment from three or four of them that they had never pictured me as a "unicorn person." This is based on the fact that I own: a book of short stories on a unicorn theme (none of which are sweet, fluffy, or Disney-esque), a book that deals with the unicorn as a symbol of the spiritual quest (which leads to unrelated questions in their own post. -give me a minute!), a jigsaw puzzle,  and a set of bookends - the latter two depicting The Unicorn in Captivity (yes, THAT Unicorn in Captivity). Four items. Is that enough of anything to know if someone is or is not a person? And what is it about me and/or unicorns that make us seemingly antithetical?

And most importantly - why can't I find an emoticon that's an animated cup of coffee?
