My apartment is finally starting to look like a place I'd want to live in. Seriously. I've got the Pink Panther's bedroom (everyone agreed that the Pink Panther is way way cooler than Barbie and that he'd love my bedroom) and the new bed I ordered and which is approximately worth my salary (good think I saved up) will be delivered on Thursday. I have a fridge taller than I am, made from stainless steel which I've taken to call "Mr Freeze" (need a nice picture of said Batman-Villain and a magnet to pin it to Freezie) and which 4 (!!!) men had to lug up two levels and into my kitchen. One of them was my cousin and he's asked for Mr Freeze's hand in marriage. I've declined on behalf of Mr Freeze because -- hey, it's MY Batman Supervillain Refridgerator!

My kitchen is mostly standing but there are still some space issues. Namely that it's really hard arranging all that kitchen furniture so that 1) it fits into the room and 2) it's still of some use. This is driving me crazy, honestly, because I have to fit in my washing machine into the kitchen as well and I still need to buy a dish washer. Then there's the question of whether I should fit a table into the kitchen or make a combinder dining-living room, only that all I have right now is the table and no chairs so people can eat standing up at my table... umm, no. I urgently need to buy chairs. And I will. Once I find a chair that isn't made from leather or embroidered or something and doesn't cost 100 Euros a piece. There HAS to be a chair for me out there- one I can afford AND fit into my apartment!

On a totally ecstatic note - I've got china. Don't ask me how this happened but fact is this: for two years I've been busy collecting and gathering things you need when you move into your own apartment. You know: the odd pot, kettle, pan and stuff. Things you can easily storage and that you will be thankful to have because buying all of it when you move out would probably ruin you. And for two years, I've been looking for china. I mean you have to eat off something - I would have bought reusable plastic plates if they weren't almost as expensive as china and harder to get a hold of. So recently, I've come to terms with my horrible shopping karma, deciding that I'd give up to look for MY china and would instead buy something cheap and generic from IKEA. And guess what I found yesterday? MY china plates. I blew up 100 or something on china and I love it and at least I won't have to go out and buy party plates for a month until I can catch a ride to IKEA with my sister in law.

The only downside of spending 7 - 9 hours a day working at an apartment and looking for furnishings is that I can't sit down and think about The Idea or get to write some of it. The only noteable process my notes have made since then is what I wrote in my last week of work (meaning: none) and my musings shortly before falling asleep.

I'm looking forward to finally settling in and spending an entire day with my notes.
