The weekend was fun. I basically read Augustine's Confessions and Beowulf, caught up on some sleep, dominated at Mario Kart, and generally enjoyed the weekend.
I've given into the futility of trying to go to sleep at a normal time. In the first place, I have way to much work to do. Even at 3:00 right now, and after spending pretty much my entire weekend working, I'm still behind. I just need to accept it.
As Pete mentioned to other people, the other thing is that I can't sleep. I lie in bed and toss and turn until my alarm clock goes off. Sometimes I do actually lose consciousness This has been getting progressively worse. I usually can't stop about physics problems, what I've been reading, or analyzing people. Sometimes I just try to focus on my breathing, but then I seem to spend an eternity awake. I think I might need to stop reading in bed.
After losing repeatedly to me in Mario Kart, my hall has formed the ABA: the Anti-Brent Alliance (it was originally the ABC for Anti-Brent Committee, but committee was thrown out). In response, I formed the BBA: the Brent Besson Alliance. Whenever we play video games now, it's everyone against me. And they still lose! FWUAHAHAHAHA!
Other things have also temporary buoyed my sinking self-confidence. People in my hall ask me for help on math that I haven't taken. I was afraid of looking dumb and disappointing the people. But after stretching my mind for a bit, I was able to set up the problems for them to solve. I'm looking forward to taking math again next semester.
I'm looking forward to everything next semester. Even though I dont' think I'm going to be able to take Hum, my classes are going to be a lot easier. I think I'm going to overload on sciences to feel good about myself and bring my GPA up. I need to make sure I take at least one course where I write though... I'd like to continue working on my writing so that I can continue hum next year.
Anyway, hopefully I can fall asleep exhausted now...
Post-note: I'm staying up 15 minutes longer. Greg (friend), is coming over for a 15 minute nap to break up his all-nighter. I'm going to fold up my laundry then wake him up.
