5,000 Question Survey, Part One

May 23, 2010 04:49

As a part of my new Day Zero list, I have decided to complete the 5,000-question survey. I don't know why. Who knows if I'll actually follow through... that's a hell of a lot of questions. But here's where we'll find out. Today I'll begin with Part One, which is questions 1-100.

Part one
1. Who are you?
I am Kirsten Rose!
2. What are the 3 most important things everyone should know about you?
I am a huge fan of animals, I like to make people feel happy, and I would take classes for the rest of my life if I could.
3. When you aren't filling out 5,000 question surveys like this one what are you doing?
Either working, sleeping, spending time with Matt, or once in a while going to a party or seeing a movie with some other friends.  My life is seemingly very repetitive as of late...
4. List your classes in school from the ones you like the most to the ones you like the least (or if you are out of school, think of the classes you did like and didn't like at the time).
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do here, because I'm fairly certain I've taken over 70 classes in my lifetime.  I guess I can say I hated chemistry and physics, was so-so on philosophy and history, and loved anatomy and psychology.  How's that?
5. What is your biggest goal for this year?
That would either be moving out, or enrolling in school.
6. Where do you want to be in 5 years?
Married, with a Masters in Clinical Psychology, maybe pregnant or with a newborn.
7. What stage of life are you in right now?
I'm in an interim kind of place, between undergrad and grad school, pre-marriage but in a committed relationship... really a very gray area.
8. Are you more child-like or childish?
More child-like, I guess, because that's the less immature one, right? I have child-like tendencies, I suppose, as does everyone.
9. What is the last thing you said out loud?
"I love you" as Matt was walking out.
10. What song comes closest to how you feel about your life right now?
"Wouldn't It Be Nice" by The Beach Boys
11. Have you ever taken martial arts classes?
Yes! I took Hap Ki Do with Katie when we were in maybe sixth grade. I've been thinking of taking some more.
12. Does your life tend to get better or worse or does it just stay the same?
It gets better, gradually and with little dips here and there.
13. Does time really heal all wounds?
Not heal, but it provides a little scabby protection I guess.
14. How do you handle a rainy day?
I run with my hand over my head. And preferably stay inside and watch movies all day.
15. Which is worse...losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights?
Losing your luggage, of course! That would suck for sure. Not only would you be out the bag itself, but everything in it. Uck.
16. How is your relationship with your parents?
I think it's great. Lots of mutual respect, as far as I can tell.
Will you miss them when they are gone?
So much.
17. Do you tend to be aware of what is going on around you?
Yeah, I try to be. Unless I'm really involved in a book, in which case lots of stuff gets tuned out.
18. What is the truest thing that you know?
Isn't truth binary? True or not true? I don't know an answer to this question.
19. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A vet, like every other kid ever.  Then I was set on being a doctor until I got halfway through college, and changed my mind.
20. Have you ever been given a second chance?
Yeah, sure.
21. Are you more of a giver or a taker?
Hopefully more of a giver. I don't like to think of myself as a taker, though I do take things gladly from time to time.
22. Do you make your decisions with an open heart/mind?
Yes.
23. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Damn cramps. I'm serious, I'd rather stab through my hand once a month than deal with this garbage.
24. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you?
It's hard to say. Deaths are always hard, and it's a little silly, but when Elphie got hit by a car last year, I was pretty devastated.
25. Who have you hugged today?
I'm thinking it was just Matt.
26. Who has done something today to show they care about you?
Haley did when she offered to get me some food and something to drink on her way home this afternoon. Matt did when he stopped by the place I work to bring me a coffee and a bag of Sour Patch Kids. And one of my clients told me I always have a nice smile. Another told me he's glad I always work hard and take care of everyone.
27. Do you have a lot to learn?
Heck yes I do.
28. If you could learn how to do three things just by wishing and not by working what would they be?
Wow, that's a pretty good question. Alright, I'll give it some thought.
A) How to fix electronic things. When my computer has a hissy fit, or the phone is being an ass, or somethings wrong with the TV, it would be awesome to know what to do with it instead of just getting so frickin' pissed off about the situation.
B) How to get in shape. The idea here is doing no work, right? So I don't have to exercise or diet; I'm just all-of-a-sudden skinny? No complaints here.
C) How to make lots of money and never work another menial job again in my life.
29. Which do you remember the longest: what other people say, what other people do or how other people make you feel?
Definitely how they make you feel; no question.
30. What are the key ingredients to having a good relationship?
Mutual respect and admiration for one another; open communication; generosity.
31. What 3 things do you want to do before you die?
Oh my God, this seems early in the survey for such a heavy question! Okay fine.
A) Travel the world. I have a map with pins. I'd like to change as many of those pins to black (for "been there") as possible.
B) Have kids.
C) Get a tiny tattoo.
32. What three things would you want to die to avoid doing?
A) Seeing someone I love die.
B) Killing anything (except a bug or plant... you know, real living and breathing stuff).
C) Well, like... anything that could destroy the world. Like in those super-dramatic movies... I dunno.
33. Is there a cause you believe in more than any other cause?
Not really.
34. What does each decade make you think of:

The 19..

20's: The Charleston and flappers.

30's: The Depression

40's: World War II

50's: Poodle skirts and Elvis

60's: The Beatles! And the good kinds of hippies

70's: Tie-dye, and the bad kinds of hippies. Bellbottoms.

80's: Really bad hair, Michael Jackson, my birth year.

90's: My childhood, some great music and some laughable music (i.e. Spice Girls)

2000's: School things. High school and college.

2010's: Just started. Nothing really.

35. Which decade do you feel the most special connection to and why?
Personally, probably the 90's or 2000's, since they're when I grew from a kid to an adult. Culturally I am all about the 1960's.
36. What is your favorite oldie/classic rock song?
Used to be "Let It Be" by The Beatles, but it may have been overtaken by "Somebody to Love" by Queen.
37. What country do you live in and who is the leader of that country?
The United States of America, and that would be President Barack Hussein Obama, for whom I voted.
If you could say any sentence to the current leader of your country what would it be?
"People are going to say nasty things about you no matter how great you are; that's just the way the world has become. Don't let it get you down. Also, please give me lots of money."
38. What's your favorite TV channel to watch in the middle of the night?
I don't even know. I usually watch OnDemand, or Sex and the City comes on TBS I think.
39. What Disney villain are you the most like and why?
I have no idea! I don't think I'm like a Disney villain at all... nope, honestly, sat here for a bit and thought, and I cannot associate myself with any Disney villains.
40. Have you ever been a girl scout/boy scout?
Yeah, for a short time in 2nd grade I was a Brownie.
41. If you were traveling to another continent would you rather fly or take a boat?
Probably fly most of the time, but maybe a boat for a special treat.
42. Why is the sky blue during the day and black at night?
Something to do with the molecules in the sky reflected the light of the sun off the surface of the earth. When there's no light, there's no reflecting, and we just see space. I dunno, that's what I think at least.
43. What does your name mean?
Something Christian. Like enlightened or holy or whatever.
44. Would you rather explore the deeps of the ocean or outer space?
OH MY GOD, NEITHER. EVER. Both terrify me.

George Clooney. Wow, I didn't mean to make them both Georges. Guess I have a thing for them.
48. Is there a movie that you love so much you could watch it everyday?
Used to be "Now and Then." I'd watch that SO MUCH. Now I have to say no, I would get sick of anything if watched too much. I do, however, adore The Big Lebowski.
49. You are going to be stuck alone in an elevator for a week. What do you bring to do?
My computer with an internet card, crossword puzzles, my crocheting needle and lots of yarn... I dunno what else; that would really suck.
50. Have you ever saved someone's life or had your life saved?
51. Make up a definition for the following silly words...

Fruitgoogle: To play a google-based game, looking up one thing, which leads to looking up something else relating to that first thing, and so on.

Asscactus: Another slang term, along the lines of "butthead" or "asshat."

I don't know. A sandwich. I'm also in the midst of crocheting a blanket.
53. What was your favorite toy as a child?
I loved and always will love Spooky Fox. I believe The Fantastic Mr. Fox is a biopic of him.

Three that are hooked up and used daily. I think there might be two or three more that are just sitting around in storage.
55. What is your favorite thing to do outside?
Dangle my feet in water off a pier. Or sit on an anchored boat reading is nice, too. I also like swinging on a swingset.

Ambivalent.

No, because I don't want to.
62. What one thing have you done that most people haven't?
Kissed Matthew Toth.
63. What is the kindest thing you have ever done?
I don't know. Which is a lame answer, I know, but I really don't.
64. Are you a patient person?
Not really. I try to be. I'm actually pretty darn impatient.
65. What holiday should exist but doesn't?
Maybe Music Appreciation Day. There might be something good there.
66. What holiday shouldn't exist but does?
Honestly, Columbus Day. That day sucks.
67. What's the best joke you ever heard?
Don't know. I don't like "best ever" questions. I'm horrible at them.

Go home.
73. If you drive do you frequently speed?

"Hey Ya!" by Outkast. Everyone I have ever seen dances to that song.
75. What song was on the last time you danced with someone?
It's really a shame that I have to answer this the way I do, but "Lady in Red" was playing at the Martini Masquerade fashion show, and I really wanted to slow dance... so I did.
76. Do you prefer Disney or Warner Brothers?
Disney.
77. What is the first animal you would run to see if you went to the zoo?
Red Panda.
78. Would you consider yourself to be romantic?
Yeah.
79. If the earth stopped rotating would we all fly off?
I don't think so... would we??
80. What is the one thing that you love to do so much that you would make sacrifices to be able to do it?
Cuddle.
81. If you (and everyone) had to lose one right or freedom, but you could pick which one everyone had to lose, what would you pick?
Right to bear arms. I don't care if everyone loses their guns. Whatever.

Not really. Just boring stuff.
90. Which would you rather take as a gym class...dancing, sailing, karate, or bowling?
Karate.
91. In Star Trek people 'beam' back and forth between different places. What this means is they stand in a little tube and their molecules are deconstructed and sent to another tube somewhere else where they are reassembled. Only problem is when the molecules are deconstructed the person is dead. When they are put back together it is only a clone that has all the dead person's memories. So...

Is the person who gets beamed the same person on both ends?
Yeah, I guess so... looks the same, same memories... same person? I don't like it though.
92. What insects are you afraid of?
All of them. No exceptions.
93. If you could print any phrase on a T-shirt, what would it say?
That's going to be a secret for a while. Planning something funny.
94. What's the most eccentric thing you have ever worn?
I have a shirt that says "Hurry up the cakes." I think that's pretty bizarre.
95. If you could pick one food that you could eat all you wanted but it would have no effect on how much you weigh, what food would it be?
Macaroni and cheese.
96. What are your parents interested in?
Wine, business, the mountains.
