Getting the comm from the transporter room had been a bit of a surprise. Someone new? ...Just what they needed. Kirk looked over the lists in front of him with a small sigh of worry. They were already having to keep up with so many new people, and Starfleet already had issues with them

Julian stepped into the office. The man looked different from the other Kirk he'd seen, but only as much as everything else about this time and place was different. He was still indubitably Kirk. The possibility that he was in an alternate universe strayed into his mind. At least it didn't seem to be like the mirror universe--if it were, he'd have been immediately thrown in the brig, he suspected.

"Captain Kirk, I presume? I'm Doctor Julian Bashir. It's an honor to meet you, sir." He was unable to keep from smiling.

Kirk stood up and offered his hand to the man. "Doctor Bashir, a pleasure." He offered a grin, "Have a seat. Tell me.. how did you end up here?"

That was the question, wasn't it? Julian sat in the chair Kirk had indicated. "I accidentally used one of the Bajoran Orbs, and it sent me to Agura. I have no idea why. I stumbled upon your crew on the planet, used your comm station, and was beamed aboard."

[kirktastic]

Something to lesson security about... "Step back a second. What's a Bajoran Orb?" Kirk had to start smaller.
