"God anyone but I didn't think I'd get back to Fandom people," he said, rubbing his head. "No offense Cade but unless you've got a fast ship and can hop dimensions, you can't help me. I'm stranded on some ice planet."
"I'm inside a pod so I've got some environmentals working but I don't know for how long," Jim told him before he peered at the mess of wires. "And I couldn't tell you. I just started twisting wires and trying to get a signal out of this computer. No idea if it's gonna last."
"Well stop twisting them for the moment," Cade said, probably less snarkily than Jim had ever believed him capable of. "Take a few deep breaths, okay? Slow your heart rate down a bit."
"Nah, you're smart as hell," Cade said. "You can figure this out. Any chance ice world is populated with useful species who aren't, dunno, making toys for good little human children every winter?"
"Not in the immediate vicinity," Jim told him, shaking his head. "But no man eating monsters that I can see either. No nothing. It's just a bunch of snow."
"That's how the eating monsters sneak up on you," Cade said. "Trust me. There's a family story on this. Is it just you on the planet or did your entire ship crash with you?"
He was trying to figure out if Jim was surrounded by dead bodies or anything.
"Yep," Jim said, resting his arms on his knees. "I would have loved to hear that discussion but I was unconsciousness at the time so I have no idea if everyone was in favor of this."
