Poll Harry Potter - the best and the worst film

I can't say I'd been anticipating the end of the saga on the edge of my seat - I wasn't really anxious, I wanted to see Transformers 3 more and yet, when the time had come, I still have to go to see T3 and I went to see Harry Potter 8 today, only a day after the national premiere. I must admit it's mostly due to the fact that they've opened a new tiny local cinema in a town close by and I'm not forced to spend 40 minutes on a bus and then walk for 15 minutes to reach the closest Odeon. I'm actually planning to see all the films there from now on.

Anyway, the film...

So, you know how lately I nitpick and complain about any film considered “good” and find holes and sigh and point out the clichees (I blame Channel Awesome crew)? This is not going to be any different, I'll point out what I didn't like as well but let's start with saying that I LOVED THIS FILM! Much much much better than the previous two parts, though still suffering of some pacing problems.

- The beginning was as it was in the last film - exposition dump, action, exposition dump, action, exposition dump, action - but it was done much better and after a moment they've (finally!!!) found the right pace.
- some characters were very underplayed, it was a case of blink and miss. Arthur was barely there, Emma Thompson appeared in one scene as, I suspect, stunt casting, she wasn't present during and group scenes. Hagrid's first scene made me whoa! Wtf!?!. He wasn't there, wasn't there, wasn't there, wasn't there OMG THERE HE IS. They haven't established him being in the group scene and suddenly, he's shouting.
- So happy they didn't cut out the scene where Molly kills Bellatrix but I don't know, this entire scene (I admit, the one I was waiting for the most) felt very underplayed and anti-climatic. It deserved a bit more in my opinion.
- I wanted to see Percy! ;_;
- A tiny nitpick but I LOVE when in the book Harry taunts Voldemort by constantly calling him Tom. Cut.
- The battle really wasn't all that epic, I have a feeling a lot had been cut and that we'll get an extended version. Fingers crossed. A lot of people I expected to get their CMOA didn't get it and Remus still dies off screen.
- Slytherin is still inheritly evil. Nuff said :/
- make-up fail on many occasions! You aren't suppose to see eyeliner and eyeshadows but it was so obvious, especially on Dumbledore's brother and Snape, that I was loling.

What I liked:

- Oh sweet Zarquon, everything else!!!
- I spent half of this film sobbing. SOBBING! Every time I calmed down something else made me cry.
- Snape! They didn't downplay his scene as I was scared they would. His “memory” is arguably, the best part of the film.
- Neville kicked so much ass, his leg must be killing him. Favourite character, hands down.
- McGonagall was another character that got elevated to Kickass.
- As dark and bloody as I expected it to be but without being depressing like in part 1. The scene where Voldermort walks around in blood after killing everyone in Gringots (?????) was really powerful.
- The dragon in the vault looked wonderful.
- They left the epilogue in, as cut as it's been. Yayness.

A perfect ending but I wish it was longer :)
