Piper/Trickster OTP (????)
Piper/Trickster arc is, at this point, my favorite arc of Countdown. I don’t give rat’s ass about Jimmy Olsen, Darkseid or Holly and the only reason I care about the search for Ray Palmer is the presence of Jason Todd and Donna Troi.
There is no doubt that, as a slasher, I want to see Piper and Trickster becoming a couple and, seeing at this DC - Our Gay Men Do Have Sex (on contrary to Marvel - We Have Gay Men, Really, See They Are Gay, We Tell You So) this is actually possible… the question however is - is it necessary. Piper is gay, Trickster is not (or so he claims, dundunduuuuuuuuun). They are forced to cooperate with each other. My point is, they are really awesome as friends and they do show that a platonic friendship between a gay man and a straight man is possible. Yes, we have Creote and Savant in Birds of Prey but the thing with those two is that Savant has no idea that Creote is gay and that he’s in love with him (hence, the ‘platonic’ part goes down the drain). That would be good for the kids I think - that gay guy that wants to be your friend? No, he does not necessarily want to get in your plants!!! sure he may but that’s beside the point

Note - All-New Atom 14 is a must-read for any boostle fan (Ted, oh TED ;_;). Actually, I’ve read the first 3 issues of ANA and I think I’ll order a TPB - it’s truly great!
