so living up here in ellensburg, i've heard some funny radio commercials that are attempts to explain some of the names in the kittitas valley, for instance:
A long ways back in CleElum, a Cletis Elum noticed some native americans checking out a small square building with a half moon in the door behind his house. So he got an idea, he went out and talked with the natives and decided to set up a location east of his property where they could go and check them out at their leisure, and that's how Indian John Hill came to be known.
