everybody's workin' for the weekend

OK, so maybe not everybody, but I know I am! Saturday and Sunday. Actually, it's officially Saturday and I'm still here from Friday night's session! There are a lot of empty offices because of the move- I think I should just bring a sleeping bag!

So lots of people are asking about China. I'm going because I got the lead in a video game. No, I can't tell you what game. I don't even know what it's called actually. Kyle Hebert and Jason Leibrecht are also in it. They're in Shanghai right now. I leave on Friday at 6 am and arrive in China on Saturday at 3:30pm. Long flight! Plus, I cross the international date line- that has something to do with it. Laura Bailey will be there with me the first week, and Tony arrives next Friday. I work through the following Wednesday, and then we're just sticking around to see the sights, just in time for Chinese New Year! This will be once-in-a-lifetime experience for us, I'm sure! I'm thrilled about the work and so excited to see the city that is quickly becoming "the capital of the world!" I've never traveled outside the US to anywhere except Mexico, so this trip is a little bit intimidating, but I guess there's nothing like diving in head first :-)

I think I have all the warm clothes I need. I went to this random store yesterday called the $6 fashion outlet, hoping for cheap, warm things. There was mostly cheap, weird things there, but I managed to get a couple of long-sleeved shirts, a sweater, scarf, and a pair of jeans, all for $6.88 a piece! I went to Target for some incidentals, and it turns out a ton of their stuff was on clearance- for $3-5!! I should have gone there first! I got tons of stuff! Today I got travel bottles and some brown tennis shoes. but I don't really like them, so if I have time, I'm taking them back to Payless. I still need to find some longjohns though...

Who knows when I'll pack! Hopefully not Thursday night! I'm pretty booked here at the studio right up until I leave, but I'll aim to be packed by Wednesday night. I also have to do laundry... gah! And clean my apt that is still a disaster from the hustle and bustle of the holidays! I would hate to return home to a messy apartment after such a great trip.

OK- enough of this. Time to go home and sleep!! (and be back in 9.5 hours...)

work, china
