irc

So I set up a new irc channel today for FS OOC, and although I don't see it being used that much - as inevitably with all things that I create, no one really cares - it's at least somewhat an educational experience for myself. I'm not exactly the channel owner as I can't figure out exactly how to do that yet, but at the least I seem to be getting auto-op'd when I log on which is very cool.

Basic list of IRC commands:

/join #fsooc - to join channel #fsooc
/nick [nickname] - to change your nickname
/me [action] - to do an action
/away [reason] - leave an away message
/quit [reason] - to leave the channel, stating your reason

To access channel, you can use the Rizon web client, fill in the Nickname field with a unique nickname (you can change this later) and the channel field with #fsooc. Leave checkbox unticked. Submit, await connection and you are in.

You can only talk in the channel if you get 'voiced' at the moment, and there's a user limit too. >_>

Anyway, I suppose at least I learned how to set up a channel, even if no one ever uses it. I just thought the possibility of anonymity mixed with a chance to chat to your heart's desire without having to do it completely in (( )) and in real time would be nice. Unless you fill in your name (and besides - I gave you a link to the WEB CLIENT, you can only fill in your details in a proper client like mIRC) no one will know who you are unless you state yourself. -_-

To people who are not on FS and do not care about IRCs (which I assume is most of you), I'm sorry for the pointless and nerdy spam. -_-

geeky, spamm
