You know, I really wish the City would stop turning me into a human. It feels weird and it's never fun. Seriously.

... I can't believe some of you people actually pushed the button. I hope you feel even a little remorse for what you did.

How does it feel different?

It's hard to describe... It's like being in an entirely different body. And like I'm missing an important part of myself.

Mmm, it felt pretty uncomfortable on the occasion I wasn't human, as well. I can understand the feeling. Only on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Yeah, you know how it is. I think the City likes doing that. Messing with what species we are, I mean. It's creepy.

But you survived the ordeal. I guess it could be said that it allows us to put ourselves in someone else's shoes, and maybe really appreciate ourselves and others a bit more.

Not that I really endorse any of the curses or the deities.

More or less. But I also robbed someone and now I feel bad...

Huh... That's a good way to look at it. I never thought of that. I guess technically I was human for the first four years of my life, but I dunno if that counts.

...You robbed someone because you were human?

It's a long story. I'm not proud of it. Luckily I didn't spend it and was able to give it back.

Sounds like. You make a pretty lousy robber. I'd say that's a good thing though.

So how is it that you used to be human.

Ahaha... Actually I think Shouryuu and Youko got me before I could do anything with it. So that's probably why...

Oh, well... I was born in Japan originally. So I thought I was human. Truthfully I really wasn't since I still had all the 'symptoms' of being a kirin. But no one knew that so it just seemed like I was a really sickly child.

Must have been tough. Does that mean your parents were human, then?

the 12K version of 'where babies come from' sounds so ridiculous when you type it out... kirinofen November 28 2009, 07:08:49 UTC
Oh, that is... Kirin don't technically have parents. We're born in a place in the center of the world called the Yellow Sea. There's a place there called Mt. Hou where all kirin come from. We're born from eggfruit called ranka that grows on a tree called the Shashinboku.

But sometimes the eggfruit gets blown into Japan by storms and will lodge itself into the stomach of a woman. So the child born is born with a 'shell' hiding his or her true appearance with one that looks like their parents. This can happen to a people and kirin alike. We call people born in Japan who are actually from the twelve kingdoms taika. So I'm a taika. I guess they were my parents but at the same time... they weren't. I don't really remember them that well anyway.

You should have went with the stork story. guardianhime November 28 2009, 07:17:57 UTC
... That's very unique. Kirin are able to walk freely among people? Are humans aware of their existence?
