Bushes. They can be substantial. Especially when you need to remove three of them to make way for a new garden, and some of them are like eight or nine feet tall.
Actually, sawing down the above-ground bits wasn't too bad. Getting the stumps out... well, I managed *one* before calling it a day; the other two will wait until later. And then there was carting off the remains... those suckers are *heavy*. Full of water, I guess.
So, totally sore now, but more of the way to making room for some nice heirloom gardenias and hopefully managing to move (or get someone to move) the Japanese maple from the bad spot in the front lawn without killing it. Of course, we're also going to need a ton of new dirt and edging bricks like the side garden too. Another day.
For today, I get to see about installing new programmable thermostats, ideally without electrocuting myself.
