Minor LJ things
So, here's something weird I haven't been able to figure out about a new(-ish) LJ feature. So there's this Message Center thing, along with its management page that lets you set up subscriptions. So that's great - in addition to emailing me comments on my entries like it always has, I set it to also email me a few other things like getting added as a friend and so on. So I get these mails just fine.
But all these notifications - including the old comment copies - are *also* going to my message center inbox. I don't want them there. I never look there. It's just annoying clutter; I only want the emails. There is a FAQ on the message center which indeed seems to confirm that the email setting lets you *also* receive emails. There's no mention of a way to not receive message center inbox stuff. Is this really impossible? It seems silly. I suppose I could open a support/suggestion ticket if nobody knows anything clever.
Speaking of clever, I just thought I'd mention as a PSA that the little "Account" link near the top of the new(-ish) menu bar layout takes you to this management page, which has links to a lot of handy pages that don't appear directly in the menu drop-downs. I bring this up just because I recently spent too long looking for some things in the menus and eventually found them there instead. The page also has a link to a full site map, when all else fails.
