I'm willing to bet that there's a good chance you'll find the ring. I'd say to scour your office and car again in the morning when you're not frustrated and tired, and if that turns up nothing, put up fliers along the block where you walk and offer a juicy reward for it if found. That's the only way I can think that someone might find it and not keep it. Ehh, I dunno. There are good samaritans out there. Make sure to call the police to see if anyone turned it in.

He called campus cops & they took a description and told him to call lost & found. Chapel Hill police just laughed because no one ever turns in jewelry.
