So I had a productive birthday. Lol. I went over to my parents' house on my birthday and the day after to help my dad get the first coat of taping and spackling done. Wow. it took forever, but the first coat is apparently the worst and I didn't do too much of the room, I just got stuck doing all the parts that required a ladder. I.E. the stairwell and the ceiling over it. Dad really did do a lot of it which I wasn't expecting and made me quite relieved. He is supposed to be out of town next week so I was considering trying to go get the second coat done while he is gone. I certainly learned alot about taping and finishing drywall. lol. I am in charge of doing two "rounded" corners on the ceiling in the stairwell where it meets the wall and where the slanted cieling meets the flat ceiling. Fun. Hey its for money, right? And to make my mom happy. She was threatening to go behind my dad's back and hire someone to finish it the next time he goes out of town without her. Which is totally not like her! I suppose 7 years of living in an unfinished house does things to people. haha.

Justin got me some nice stuff for my birthday. He got me a birthstone necklace which is nice and simple, just how I like jewelry. :) And he got me a Springer! It's a spring you mount on your bike so you can run the dog next to you without the dog crossing the bike. It will be great because, (once I get in shape) I will be able to hook him up and go for a few laps around the park behind the house every day or so to get him tired out. I tried it today. It was interesting. Mostly because Genius me couldn't figure out that the instructions were on the other side of the paper inserted in the box *facepalm* so I didn't know you need to glue it onto the bike in addition to using the nut and bolts to keep the dog from pulling so hard that he twists it forward and into the way of your pedals. *whistles innocently* Yeah so we went one and a half times around the park just to see. Max thought it was a great warmup. We got home and he "zoomied" around the yard for another 5-10 minutes. On the website it shows using it on roads, but it specifically says in the instructions to avoid doing that because it is dangerous and can also lead to excessive wear on the dog's feet from the pavement. But it's not a big deal because I know of some great trails around here where I could use it too.

Like I mentioned earlier, my sister's husband cut his hand. I am not sure what exactly happened, but he is a chef and he was cutting something and ended up getting his hand instead of the "something." He managed to sever three of the tendons and is going to need months of physical therapy. He had surgery today but I didn't want to disturb them so I didn't call. Maybe tommorrow.

blessings, max, sister
