So, I suppose that all you people that I never see would like some kind of an update regarding my life, as it's been, oh, well, a MONTH. ^^; Gomen.

Classes started Wednesday, and I'm pretty happy, overall. I enjoy being in class, really, and this semester looks like it should be fun, even with my workload (which really isn't as bad as I'd thought.) I'm also happy to be seeing friends who were away or out of contact for the summer. ^^ I only have a couple more people to hunt down and give hugs to in the next little while. If I'm lucky I might manage that on Monday.

So, courses. As I'm guessing you all know, I'm currently doing an English Degree (perhaps with Honors) with a minor in (I'm thinking) Math. This semester, I've been lead to taking the following courses. Here are my thoughts after the first classes/the "hi I'm your prof, this is the plan, now leave" sessions.

English Grammar - my prof seems to be somewhat crazy, in the good way. We've been told "If you're in class you probably won't need a textbook, but use your own judgment." Also, she came in to our second class, took attendance, and said "I have very sad news...class is canceled today. I absolutely have to be elsewhere, in about five minutes. See you Monday."

Religious Studies, Intro. to Asian Cultures and Religions - ahh, my course with little attached work, and no text. Hooray for reserve readings. And Dr. Rainey, who is awesome.

Europe and the Wider World 1750-1914 - thus far, highly enjoyable. Dr. Bryan is awesome, and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the semester. Happily, I'm even enthusiastic about the paper!

Discrete Mathematics - Dr. Phil (Heath) is awesome! So far, class has been somewhat incomprehensible and really funny. Which works out well, because it keeps me from panicking about the confusing-ness of the material.

Writers from 1800 - can be described as interesting? Ummm, my prof is kinda crazy, and has loaded the next six weeks with insanity. Currently, I think I under appriciate that concept. It will be nice to have my term paper done by October 16th, but it also stinks, as that is the same day as my Math Midterm, and the day after the draft of my other paper is due. ^^; I think it's time to go with the concept of doing things in advance. Oh my.

Other than that, life hasn't really settled in yet...I'll probably have a definite idea of my music-related life in the next week or so. The major bits will be looked after by today, as I have my first flute lesson, and Gower starts (and possibly finishes, depending on how many flutes we have). ^^ I'll try to post more often!! <3
