Sweet!
Christmas was fun! Went to a church thing on Sunday morning to listen to my lil bro do a speech. It was cute, but hard to understand sometimes because he tends to talk to fast and not enunciate on stage. Then watched Snakes on a Plane that afternoon with Zakiyyah and Crystal. Had dinner at Hoss's with Kimi and Reiko then hung out at Kimi's for awhile and exchanged gifts. I have some awesome new shirts and a Hufflepuff pin now! 'Cause I'd so be a 'Puff if I was at Hogwarts.
Spent the night and talked with Mummy-bubble most of the next afternoon and we watched movies and made fun of ugly QVC jewelry. Dropped Kimi off at her uncle's after she got up, then went back to my parents to have dinner with family.
On Christmas day I woke up 10, got a shower, and helped cook our lunch feast. Lots of yummy food. Papa came over and Melissa and Jeremy too. And *then* we opened presents! XD I got a couple new sweatshirts, jewelry, the set of Ninja Turtles movies, a PotC paperweight with Captain Jack, some lotions and body spray that smell really good, a framed picture of Melissa and Jeremy's wedding, and other things. Everyone was pretty happy this year. No major disasters or anything. Not there usually are. We mostly get along really well, there's only a few issues that aren't brought up much.
Religion and Politics mostly. I'm pretty sure that Papa and I are the only non-conservatives in the family. Papa's a democrat, and I lean that way, but consider myself an independent. Even though I'm still registered Republican because I picked it in high school because that's what my parents were and I didn't pay much attention to the parties at the time. And I can only imagine the ruckus if I told my conservative Christian parents that I believe in a mash of Christian/Buddhist/NewAge ideas that don't fit into any normal religious mold. It gives me headaches to think about it too much.
Went to my grandparent's place that afternoon for desserts, seeing aunts and uncles and cousins in for the holiday, and played a rousing game of spoons where I came in second! Spoons is the best party card game ever!!!
Drove home that night and played some Fable before sleep. Oh, wonderful sleep. Worked the rest of the week because I don't get vacation days yet. Saw Aaron and Ari when they got back on Wednesday night. RP'd a bit.
Last night was really fun! Went out to dinner at Primanti Brothers with my cousin Dustin who I haven't really talked to much in ages. We ate delicious sandwiches and drank some beer and hung out for two hours. He's in town for another week catching up with old friends before he flies back to Atlanta and his awesome job at Google. We're the oldest of the grandkids and it was fun remembering the crazy things we did almost twenty years ago.
Makes me feel old. And perverted. 'Cause I'll be 26 in a few months and still get fan-crushes on teenage characters. Hell, I *was* the age of the Gundam Wing boys when that came out and had my first anime-crush on Duo. And I hero-worshiped Mirai Trunks. Because he was made of awesomeness.
Soooo, gonna stop rambling here and finish my last lab test before graphing it and calling it a day. I'm gonna stop by Best Buy after work to see if they have any really good deals on a digital camera. Because I neeed one for Ohayocon next weekend and I'm sick of using disposable cameras and not knowing if the shots will come out later.
Tonight! The plan is to work on the Matsumoto costume and see if anyone online is in a RPing mood. Need to finish the date log with Tan and catch up with other people. Ah! And figure out what Sengoku bought people for Christmas, because I haven't been in the mood to post one after doing Atsushi's and Sengoku's will be longer. XD
