(no subject)
Homework is almost done. Just need to tweak up my concept stuff for studio forum, I'm a bit more than halfway done with my oil painting, and 2D shouldn't be too hard.
Also totally love Katekyo Hitman Reborn. I've read through a few chapters before, liked the characters a lot, but there wasn't really much of a plot so much as little mini-episodes that were there for amusement and introduced new characters, a la Ranma 1/2 only not as cracky. Still, once they started with an actual plot around chapter 70-ish, it's actually pretty good; they even make the old "tournament" fighting cliche seem like it has a purpose. And it's basically a mobster theme smushed together with happy-go-lucky shonen, freaking adorably awesome characters, and weirdly-cracky martial arts movies, and stuck into a blender on liquefy.
...Now, if only like so many other shonen series, the girls weren't so absolutely, completely, useless and/or dumb. Seriously.
Also wondering why Yamamoto and Hibari get way more fanlove than Gokudera. I like my chainsmoking, short-tempered, dynamite-happy, intelligent (holy shit in the future he comes up with entire holographic training systems and tons of codes and ah-hah-hah trying to teach Tsuna how to swim through physics theories <3), illegitimate mafioso brats, dammit. And he has better chemistry with Tsuna than Tsuna has with the main female love interest; Gokudera is made of awesome, and it's not like he's ugly or not badass enough, either, dammit. D<
