Probably the dumbest advice I'll ever give, but the direct approach is definitely something that we [dudes] appreciate. This way for the wiser [dudes] (which is rare, in the case of Tampa Florida), who like the girl, we don't think they're playing use for chumps and thus making us feel like crap.

So hey. I congratulate you for letting it out in the air before things got awkward. Keeping feelings on the inside just hurts you (Believe me, personal experience.... never again.) and push those you care about away from you.
