So I saw Sweeney Todd yesterday. Unlike most I didn't go to see Depp, actually I went for Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman. I loved the music and probably spent way too much time laughing.
I didn't expect Alan Rickman to sing. Not only did he sing, but he played the dirty old man. His toady, Timothy Spall just oozed sycophanty and administered a good beating or two.
Bonham Carter played the crazy practical woman. Very similar to Marla Singer actually.
Depp? Well his character only had two modes. Brood and Slay.
The only problem I actually had with the whole film was that it was hard to shake the feeling that I was watching Death Eaters: The Musical.
