Today was crazy. My car is "fixed," and it's not the muffler and it's not the transmission: it's the all-season tires that I just put back on my car. When they put them back on Friday, the guys neglected to tell me that the insides of my tires are starting to get torn up. The guys at Muffler Man (over at Cooley Lake and Williams Lake and are SCARY HONEST and will do whatever it takes to save you money...::shameless pimp::) told me that they will probably last until I need to go back to my winter tires in October, but to scrap them after this year. They're going to be loud for awhile, and I'll probably try to save up for some new all-seasons when I get out of school and start working more (mostly during June). However, it was a good thing that I went in because I was missing or needing a new wheel barring or something. Either way, cost $250ish and the noise is much less scary.
Before I was able to leave (and literally RIGHT AFTER they pulled my car around for me to leave), there was a somewhat serious car accident RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY CAR outside of the shop. I kinda panicked at first and was like, "Is Brady hurt at all?!" and for the record, Brady is alive and well and unscathed. OH JOYOUS DAY! Like seriously, some fucker cut someone hardcore off while trying to turn in to Muffler Man's attempt at a parking lot. I totally got to watch it happen, and wasn't surprised when they were all KIDS driving (including the car that was hit). So I didn't leave until like, 20 minutes later.
Anyway, talked to Eugene about my concert sketchbook today. I really wanted to know how to present it during reviews, and he and I ended up talking about music and jazz and how every single mainstream band sounds exactly the same and how it's hard to find shit that is unique. It then led to him suggesting that I take an independent study in the next year and revolve it around said concert sketchbook, and he would totally work with me to take it a step further. We talked about me hitting at least one show a week to work in the sketchbook, and then doing some other projects on the side. I think I'm going to seriously consider taking him up on the offer in the fall semester (adding another "class" isn't going to add any more to tuition anyway), and I'm pretty sure that I could get it maybe one day a week or something, esp. if I work it out with Shawn over at Live Nation that I could have a set show day(s) that I could work outside of class.
I'm absolutely exhausted. Got a total of MAYBE an hour of sleep last night and have been running on fucking NOTHING all day. I'm going to take a power nap (meds included since I don't think I can stand another day of my lumbar vertebrae freaking the fuck out like it has for the past week) before getting up to work more on my Anatomy sketchbook. I also have another 30 drawings to do for Perspective due Wednesday, and I still haven't started my muscles on my sculpture. Guh. Anyway...time for naps.
