I have had some very strange dreams lately. In the last five nights or so I’ve dreamed that I:
    - Was told I had brain cancer by a doctor operating out of a mall
    - Almost got run over, along with my mom and dad, by a minivan in a grocery store parking lot. The van stopped for a moment after it passed us, so I ran up to it and rapped on the window and called them jerks - then a tall, older-but-still-spry man got out of the van and started yelling at me as I was walking back to our car. I told him he almost ran over me and my family and that he really needed to drive more carefully, and he kept yelling that it was our fault until my dad walked up and shoved him in the chest, telling him to stay away from his daughter. I yelled at my dad to stop, stepped between them, and said we were going away.
    - Tweezed my male friend’s eyebrows and then fell asleep on top of him
    - Wore fringed pants and a shirt with a feather headdress, all in black and crazy shades of bright yellow, along with black face paint, to go shopping downtown. I watched a local band play in a coffee shop, and I danced by myself in front of the audience.
    - ate little beads of food that looked something like salmon roe, but tasted like pomegranate and blueberries
    - saw a lightning storm tear apart electric poles and wires from the backyard of my parents’ house
    - found my sister in my bedroom dry heaving after throwing up twice in my room and several times throughout the house in insanely huge amounts. My dad got mad at me for not telling him that she was doing this, even though I had just found out and had only just started to get cleaning supplies together to take care of the mess - then he told me she had been hacking up blood and was going to take her to the emergency room.
    - Was a consort to some royal dude - he was actually pretty attractive, but appeared to have no hair on his body at all. I basically remember servicing him orally, and at some point later he was using a strange medicated salve as lube... it was tingly and smelled kind of like throat lozenges. His wife and child were in the next room, too - a fact that, at the time, did not seem odd in the least.

Some of these dreams left me feeling very, very strange for the rest of the day afterwards. At least there were no zombies - I guess that’s a nice change. Still, I wonder if this is what has been making me feel rather off lately, sort of detached, and a little crazy.

IN OTHER NEWS, I watched "Libertine" over last weekend - wow, I don't think I've ever heard that much swearing in a period drama before! Overall it was quite enjoyable, though hard to describe - but what can one say to properly describe a movie based on a play based on the life of a great self-destructive cynic in a bygone age?
